On the other hand, data from the United States National Institute of Health concluded, in 1997, that “there is clear evidence that the treatment of certain symptoms with acupuncture needles is more effective and causes fewer side effects than conventional treatments. In Germany and the United Kingdom, 70% and 90%, respectively, of pain clinics use acupuncture.”
