Sheffield has many great bars and restaurants and a majority of these are all located in a compact area making it easy to get around on a night out. Itll also save you a considerable amount in taxi fare compared to some other cities. Sheffield also has a vibrant food scene and there are lots of hidden gems scattered across the city waiting to make your taste buds water! No matter what you fancy youll never be more than a short walk or bus trip from a fantastic meal out. One thing youll defiantly learn if you choose to come to Sheffield is that northerners like their food on the large size, so expect to find towering burgers and ample portions of chips from any of the local takeouts. Finally, Sheffield has a great culture and some of the UKs biggest bands come from Sheffield including the likes of the Artic Monkeys, Bring me the Horizon, Pulp and The Pigeon Detectives. Youll find theres always something going on in Sheffield so youll defiantly wont be bored whilst youre living here!

Another bonus to Sheffield is the cheap student accommodation prices, making it one of the most affordable places to go to university in the UK. There is ample student accommodation to choose from, but the two most favourable areas are Broom Hill and Crookes. This is because they are both located close to the universities and have lots of shops and local bars to visit. The undisputed favourite though is Ecclesall Road or Eccey road to the locals. It is known as Sheffields golden mile and has a rich coffee culture and seems to be a never ending road of bars and restaurants.
